Stephen Austin

Steve has been a commercial artist for over 40 years. He considers himself extremely fortunate that he is able to combine his lifelong love of drawing, mechanical ability, and keen sense of humor into a successful and interesting career. His first cartoon sales to popular automotive magazines were just the beginning for Steve, and to date his portfolio includes automotive illustration, conceptual designs, humorous cartoons and caricatures. As a member of The Door Art Gallery, Steve regularly attends life drawing sessions at the gallery, with his artist friends. He enjoys traditional plein air painting in oils and watercolors, and drawing in a variety of mediums. He has won awards for his work in local art shows, and graciously shares his knowledge and experience by doing demos for community art groups.
